Hospital Security System Installation
Thompson Electronics Company has served to support the safety and security of the patients, visitors, healthcare staff, and doctors at Unity Point Health – Proctor Hospital for many successful years. The Proctor Facility includes a 220-bed main hospital and a separate building that is home to the Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery.
Centralized security control is maintained by the Security Command Center located adjacent to the first floor Emergency Department. Thompson Electronics Company was charged with monitoring and controlling the entire Proctor Hospital Campus and the critical areas within the facility including narcotics/pharmacy storage, nuclear asset containment, surgical suites, specialized treatment department access, the parking deck, the Physicians Professional Building, and the sub-level facility service corridors.
Video Surveillance & Access Control System
A combination of Pelco Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) and fixed video surveillance cameras were deployed at key interior and exterior vantage points to provide real-time and recorded video for the Security Command Center and at designated departmental supervisory positions. Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) are installed throughout the complex and are linked via the Proctor Hospital-wide area network (WAN).
A Bosch access control system was provided to control and monitor the entry of authorized staff into sensitive areas of the facility. The Bosch access control panels communicate over the Proctor Hospital WAN for immediate alarm notification and access control system updates. Thompson Electronics Company also provided a “unified” proximity access control card solution for the Director of Security to allow a single card credential to be usable across all Unity Point Health facilities.
