    Technical Sales Account Executive – Security Systems

    Job Description

    Thompson Electronics has been a leading commercial security systems integrator in the state of Illinois for over 40 years. We need a high energy candidate to assist our customers and prospects in purchasing the right systems solutions for their buildings. We provide Cloud-based security systems, Video Surveillance, Access Control, Intrusion Detection & Alarms and. We have thousands of existing customers and opportunities.

    You would meet with existing and potential customers including owners, building managers, municipal authorities and contractors on a regular basis and assist them with purchasing the best solution. Work includes onsite technical surveys, system design, selection of system components, preparation and presentation of formal proposals for the purpose of closing the sale.

    Sales territory will be based out of our Naperville office covering northern Illinois from Indiana to Iowa borders. You will be supported by a team of project managers, engineers, Network programmers and electronics technicians.

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Technical sales experience
    • Bachelor degree – technical or business
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills
    • Self Motivation, accountability and be self managed

    Preference will be given to those that have security systems knowledge, training and sales experience.

    Other experience that is preferred:

    • Familiar with technical drawings / specifications
    • Knowledge of professional construction means and methods
    • Electrical infrastructure requirements
    • Previous experience in working with the construction trades

    Compensation includes:
