John Eichhorn started at Thompson Electronics in 2020 and is the Branch Manager in Naperville. He was previously the Operations Manager for Commercial Electronics Systems. John has an impressive 35 years in the low-voltage industry which are primarily in fire alarm systems. John’s early years were spent in the U.S. Army.
Currently, John is a member of IBEW Local 176 and has achieved a NICET Level IV Fire Alarm System certification. Throughout his career, he worked his way up the ranks. He started as an apprentice, then became a journeyman, foreman, Project Manager, Operations Manager, and now, Branch Manager. John’s career accomplishments can be correlated to what he learned in the army: perseverance, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to ever-changing technology and life’s challenges.
One of John’s main goals as Branch Manager is to continue to develop business in Northern Illinois counties. He plans to “out-grow” their current office space in the best way, by adding more sales and technical staff positions. He wants to maintain a high level of customer service, one that TEC customers have come to expect. John enjoys his colleagues and is looking forward to the next generation of employees to keep the business going strong. He is extremely proud to work with Craig Thompson and the rest of the TEC team which has enabled them to make the north branch a reality.
Above all, John enjoys spending time with his family. He has been married 36 years to his wife, Karen, and they have two beautiful daughters, Lyssa and Sarah. Plus, he has a wonderful grandson named Kyle, who you can spot in his LinkedIn profile photo. When John’s not cheering on the Chicago Bears or Blackhawks, he enjoys swimming, golfing, and being outdoors in general.
